What does a life coach do?

First, I help you clarify your goals. It’s important that you figure out what it is you really want out of your life, right? So, that’s where we start. I’ll help you explore questions like “what is my purpose in life?”, “what will make me happy?” etc. Your goals might include increased confidence, a career you will love, finding a loving, lasting relationship- any and all goals are up for exploration.

After we have some clarity, I will help you identify the obstacles holding you back from reaching your goals. We all have blindspots (myself included).  Coaching brings these inner blocks and blindspots out into the open so they can be addressed and conquered.

As your coach I will work with you to develop strategies for overcoming each obstacle. You’ll create a life you love by building on your unique skills and gifts. Simply put, I will support you, challenge you, hold you accountable and I won’t let you believe that you are anything short of capable and amazing.

Do I need a life coach or a therapist?

Great question! I have been trained as both a therapist and a life coach. So, I feel well-equipped to answer this question.

Generally speaking, a therapist is going to explore more of your past while a life coach is focused on moving forward and your future. If you feel as though you are currently struggling with trauma and significant mental health issues, a therapist is the best avenue for you to get the help and healing you need right now. Therapy will be less action-oriented and will help you process your feelings at a pace that allows deep healing.

If you feel like you have a good foundation of mental health in place, but you are struggling to get to that next level of happiness and realization of your goals, life coaching is the right fit for you. While I have an immense amount of empathy and I understand that we are all products of our past, as a coach I am focused on how you are going to move forward and step into your greatness. I will push you and challenge you to get out of your comfort zone- all done with the intention of getting you the life you desire.

Why would I choose Life Coach Amanda instead of a therapist?

I am not knocking therapy. Heck, I went to lots of it! But, for me, while therapy provided me with a safe space to discuss my past and receive empathy and support, it wasn’t moving me forward in the way I desired. I became a very self-aware young woman thanks to therapy, but I wasn’t doing anything differently in my life. While I initially trained as a therapist, once I was exposed to the powerful model of coaching, I knew it was the right fit for me and my skills. Coaching focuses on your strengths and is a motivational/empowering approach. As a coach, my philosophy is that you have everything you need inside of you to have the life you love. It’s my job to help you believe that as well.

My sincere desire to see you accomplish the growth and change you seek is what led me to develop my signature coaching program. After a decade of helping clients transform their lives, it has become clear to me that one of the most important elements of my clients’ success is their commitment to the process.

New ways of thinking and behaving do not happen overnight–or even in a few weeks. Simply put, dabbling in coaching doesn’t work. It won’t create lasting results. And we don’t want this to be a waste of your time, energy and money!

If you are serious about creating a life you love, it is critical that you make a commitment to show up for yourself and the process of growth with an open mind and with consistency. That is why my signature coaching program includes 12 one-on-one sessions and unlimited accountability and support check-ins between sessions.

I promise to do my part by being your biggest encourager, your sounding board, and the tough-question asker. I won’t let you believe all of the negative thoughts and excuses that you have been telling yourself. I will be all-in on helping you make the changes you seek in your life.

Program Outline:

• Initial Client Assessment and Questionnaire – This gives us a snapshot of where you are right now in each area of your life. And, most importantly, this tool will help us identify the areas of your life where you most want to experience positive change and transformation.

*7 Levels of Energy Assessment – The Energy Leadership Index (E.L.I.) is a one-of-a-kind assessment that evaluates your perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and overall mindset or “energy” that is leading your life. Change your mindset, change your life.

• Twelve 60-minute private coaching sessions with me via Zoom or telephone. (Must be used within 6 months from the initial session.)

• Homework assignments that energize you to take action on your goals and dreams

• Text and email access to me between sessions for support and accountability

• Recommended readings, podcasts, and additional resources to help accelerate your growth

Can I just book individual sessions with you?

I highly encourage you to consider making a deeper commitment to your goals. But, I also understand that sometimes it’s not feasible to invest at the signature program level. The 6 week starter package is also a great opportunity to invest in yourself and give coaching a try. Let’s jump on a call and chat about your options and how we can work together.

How are the coaching sessions held?

All sessions are held via Zoom or the telephone (your choice). I work with a coach who I have never met in the flesh and she has changed my life. So, don’t doubt the power of connecting via Zoom or phone. And, hey, there’s no fighting traffic, looking for a parking spot and pajama pants are totally allowed.

Who do you work with?

I work with women, men, young adults, “seasoned” adults, CEOs, stay-at-home parents, entrepreneurs, corporate climbers, single, married and more. The one thing all of my clients have in common is their desire to gain more confidence and fulfillment in their lives. My most successful client transformations occur with clients who are committed to the coaching process which means attending regular coaching sessions and taking action steps towards their goals – – with me as your guide and biggest cheerleader, of course!
